A Bachmann American Type, "Jupiter," rounds the curve into Hart's Mill Crossing. From the RP Model Railroad Works.

My LOTW is what appears to be an early Mantua, Varney & Knapp kitbash... It is missing the trailing truck but it appears to intend to be a 4-8-2 Mountain with a Mantua brass boiler, a Varney brass vanderbilt tender and a modified Knapp brass chassis. The patina is nice and it looks like it is just post-war, with pre-war parts judging by the motor.

Really interesting pieces. That Mantua really has a look.
RP: I fired up Hart's Mill for the first time, and Jupiter runs perfectly, just as you said it would.
I went to a meeting of the Southwest Chapter of the Locomotive and Railroad Society this evening, and had one hour to get it running and finish it! I felt like one of those contestants in those baking reality TV shows trying to beat the clock. Happy to say that once I scraped out some glue and ballast from inside some spots on the rails, it worked great. Thank Heavens for that, because all the track and trestles are firmly glued in place- no going back! Will post some video tomorrow, I hope, then take it to a Coin Show in El Paso where I will spend some time with my amazing historian friend, MacKenzie, while we try to raise some interest and funding for a restoration project of an 1860's baggage coach that he found in the desert!
That's another story, will try to post some images, background in the Railroadiana Thread later in the week.

Good catch! Indeed it is a 2-8-4 ... or possibly even a 2-8-2
