Thanks. Pre-history fascinates me, and I try to wiggle in some representations of
ancient British sites. Britain is particularly interesting, because the whole island
is like a giant Dagwood Sandwich of some of the most astonishing sites on the
planet. People are routinely busting open ancient goldwork, Roman villas, and
Viking sites just by digging a hole in the ground. Sutton Hoo, which was an untouched
lump of a hill sticking straight out of a flat field had been there for 1500 years before
some started digging at it, and uncovered an entire Viking ship and some of the
most intricate golden artwork ever seen. The Catford Urns is a pun on this phenomenon,
inspired by our friend Catford Ken who has contributed some of the best pieces to
"Henley."
