Yes the club is located in the industrial park less than a mile away from Old Country Road. Some photos from my visit to that club on Friday and Sunday.

More soon.

Thanks Robert. I went back there yesterday and videotaped the layout.
Layout is only 30 percent finish with scenery.

Whoa, Nelly! The car ferry and the via duct beat the band! Those D&H PA 1's are smoking hot.
Behind the curtains, I'd love to know how these guys pull this off: it's no easy task to assemble a group of model rail artisans and say, "let's just do this." There is a lot of professional grade talent evident here, and then to find a bunch of guys with money and time to do stuff like this... the backstory has to be at least as amazing as the results.

Went back to the club yesterday and taped the whole layout.
A huge layout with plenty of scenery on it and plenty more to be added.

I finally had a chance to sit down and watch these well shot videos in some detail. The first thing that jumps out at tme is that there is not a profundity of convoluted reverse loops (like here in El Paso). The train movements go on and on, in out of the scenery, but the termini, at least one freight and one elegantly long passenger, is where the switching looks abundant.
This methodical arrangement allows all the members to run their personal favorites- steam to diesel, modern to yester year efficiently while giving the audience an eyeful of fabulous trains and stunning scenic visuals.
During your time, did you see any evidence of switching or pick up and delivery, such as to the delightful barge? Could the layout be used in such a fashion, or is is primarily geared to running? (In no way a criticism, just wondering).
Again, I'll bet the rent the backstory on how this remarkable cooperative effort came together, and holds together, has to be fascinating. It appears they have largely navigated the perils of the "Tower of Babble Effect."
No wonder you had a good time, these guys have set a high bar. Have you not done so already, I am certain those fellows would really enjoy your excellent photography and videography.

Thanks Jeff. The layout is tremendous in size. They are building a second level over part of the layout. I did notice a little switching between tracks when the train enters one of the sprawling yards to stop and rest.
Some of the guests were operating various trains in their DCC mode. They would be instructed to slow the pace of the train as it enters a station. Stop at the station usually with the third passenger car at the station building.
More photos of the layout.

Still one more weekend for those nearby to visit this amazing set up.

One photo from the club which reminds us when we visited the local store to view model trains.

We remember the Woolworth ads which brought us to their stores.

In many ways this method was better than what we see today on the internet.

Really a great layout. I would love to see a track plan. The one thing I like to do with Model Railroader magazine is match the layout photos to the plan.

Some of these views boggle my mind.
What also boggles my mind is the degree of cooperation and coordination this Club has attained. For over 20 years I was involved in the local train club, and it was difficult to get a consensus if the sky was blue.
Clearly, this outfit has cost a heap of money and boasts an unusual talent pool. I just can't help but wonder how they get all these modelers to essentially agree to a theme. It astonishes me they can put it all together and make it happen.
