that would fit a 40 foot gondola- Life Less, Athearn, AHM, Tyco. Any color. Will either buy or I still got some NOS Model Power B units in NYC, all kinds of parts for the brands mentioned above, a partially assembled Varney caboose kit, a complete Athearn BB caboose kit (ATSF), a bunch of AHM side loading 62' boxcars- chassis's are good, but needs trucks. Also got a mint Canadian National F unit, by Model Power, dummy that is mint NOS.
My problem is I got like 8 new gondolas from Henry, and I've got like 40 gons now, and I need more loads!!
Micro, I have not forgotten you, going to go find a camera right now.

I don't have anything "cheesy" to share right now ( other than my suggestions, LOL! ), but some may interest you. The Tyco Concrete pipe car? I saved many of those cellophane tape cores, they are a good sleeve fit for the concrete pipes, or can be used by themselves. Plastic screw caps off soft drinks or bottles also make good container loads. Old defunct screw-together ink pins can be military loads ( bombs, missiles, torpedos ), just rip the little pocket clip off it. I have a BUNCH of US Gov't pens that don't write anymore, dark blue, thought they'd make great torpedo or missile loads. Actually I DO have some stuff I can share with you! I got a huge amount of fiber-optic cable joiners, they're blue with a grey dust plug, they remind me of an electrical transformer or something. Anyway, I broke many apart, but have several boxes in my office still put together, if you break the joiners in half, you can get two "transformers" out of it. I'd be more than happy to send them to you for shipping costs. I have a whole small bin full of them already, I don't need any more. Let me know if you're interested in some.

Ok, I DO have a picture of them. Here ya go. The bottom one is what they come as, they're glued together in the middle, I just took an X-acto around the perimeter, put half in a vise, and snapped the other half off. Fairly easy , only broke a few ( they were trashed by another company and I saved them. ) The yellow label is optional, comes with them, I though they looked "nukey" with the yellow label on them. I've actually saved bits of aluminum off computers like heat sinks and other pieces that will make good loads as well. But these are plastic, per your spec.

Those are pretty nifty, Jerry, I rather like the ones with labels, if you should have some to spare. I also have a bunch of empty flats that came with this lot, and the Tycomania Nuclear Power Plant is always in need of fuel rods, which these appear to be suggestive of. Send me a handful and PM the postage.

Other plastic loads to consider :
- My wife has doogie poop bags, and they are wrapped around a black plastic "pipe" core. They also seem like the correct size for the traction tire install tool I saw at a hobby shop. Diesel wheel sized, anyway.
- Calculator printer paper cores - these are much bigger diameter, about 1 inch, with some honeycomb construction. I don't get these often, but I have a few stashed away for train loads (eventually ).

So, one rolls the traction tire off the baggy poop bag car onto the diesel wheel?

Yeah, basically the core is a hollow plastic tube. The tool I saw at the hobby shop was metal, but about the same diameter ( 3/8 inch ). Should work. :) That's the poop scoop for today.

Yes, Jerry, those are rather "nukey" looking loads, and would fit well into the Tycomania scheme of things. As soon as I get hold of your email for Paypal I'll get the postage out to you ASAP.
Yeah, not only has USPS gotten rather pricey, the service has become truly atrocious. I did quite a bit of shipping, but finally wised up that the damage and lost rate is not less than 20%. When I purchased insurance for my last shipment to RP, I got quite an earful from the postal clerk. That did it for me. I found UPS ran about 25% less in cost, and it's insured. This worked out well.

UPS does charge more for Residential service. I haven't compared pricing in awhile, though. I can ship through my office as well, I just dislike using company account for personal stuff, so avoid it. I think as long as the weight stays under 1 pound, the price isn't so bad, but because it was 1 OUNCE over, it ran up the cost. I'll have to check that as well to be sure. I didn't check the weight at the office. Oh well.

A useful shipping tip, Jerry, I had known of the price point. Looks like I will be stuck using USPS a bit more then, as the package I saved 25% on was going to a hobby shop. Guess I will need to start locating and using Wells Fargo steel shipping chests from the 1880's.
