Years ago, I was in Ecuador, riding along on the pilot beam of the locomotive. There was a chicken running down the tracks ahead of the train. The train overtook it and the last I saw of it was it disappearing under the cowcatcher. I mentioned this to a fellow traveler later on. He happened to be on the platform of the last car, then and saw the chicken emerge from under the train unharmed. Looks like the chicken is safe enough in the tracks.

They're slides, still on film. I really should scan them, someday though, in case anything would happen to the slides.

I remember when slides were Hi Tech. A real event, had the neighbors
over for coffee and slides.

That was the social occasion when I was growing up. I used to know the guy who invented the magazine fed slide projector. Before him, you fed pictures in by hand, sort of one at a time. We looked at lots of slides at his house, and if we came home from vacation, he'd call, practically as we pulled in the driveway, wanting to know if we had our pictures back.
