Here's my SOTW offering:

A practically NOS Piggyback Flat Car set, which besides containing another loading ramp/accessories, also stored a Burlington Northern piggyback car and Green Kenworth Cab-over truck. I'm so excited to receive another trailer for the green Kenworth truck, to then have it driving down the streets of Ephrata. :)

Superb reefer set, Frank. Why, though, would they go to the expense
and trouble of metal sides? Also, what is the vintage? I have the Land
'o Lakes, but it seems to be all plastic.

Look closer chops if you got the same one it has metal sides like the ones I described in the earlier post. Take the floor off and look inside.

My set of the week offering is the 1958 Gilbert HO #30440 NYC HUDSON FREIGHT. This is a very difficult set to find in the original box AND with the correct filler box which contains the whistle control unit. There are presently only three complete boxed sets known to exist and two incomplete boxed sets.

bad71burb,

Congratulations on obtaining such a rare set. Other than a wee bit of tape on the loco box, the boxes are in amazing shape after all these years!

Thank you. That is actually factory tape on that box. I have another NOS 446 and it's taped exactly the same as this one. I have a fairly large Gilbert collection and this set certainly ranks as one of the harder items to find.

Meautiful sets guys! LOOOOVE that Gilbert set.

Mine's a "Right place, right time" - was at the LHS, and a fellow modeler came in with these looking to sell them. The owner doesn't really do used stuff, but I saw them and fell in love. $70 for the set ($10/car isn't bad at all) - Vintage Tenshodo brass Canadian Pacific passenger set. Needs some TLC. Baggage, 2 coaches, dome, diner, sleeper and Dome obs.

I LOVE the oddball proportions on that Obs.

Very nice! I've never seen the Tenshodo CP cars. Did they offer up matching F units for them? That would be a killer set if you could find them.

And thank you. There's actually another boxed 30440 set on eBay right now and it's bidding cheap right now. Just my luck. Spend years looking and then one showed up right after i find mine.
