I apologize for not posting in this thread for a year, but I have been busy with other things in the meantime. Anyways, not a lot has changed with my layout, but a couple things have...
My main freight consist when running on the outer loop. A new piece of rolling stock there is a Pemco girder flatcar, once again upgraded with knuckle couplers and metal wheels.

An interesting little project I did, assembling a 1980s Life-Like SceneMaster Passenger Bridge and placing it at my downtown train station, inspired by how I've seen a few such real-life double-track train stations. Now the passengers won't have to worry about having to just use the at-grade railroad crossing when switching platforms!
 The train station at Christmastime.
My dad really enjoyed getting me this for Christmas, a Woodland Scenics "Dog Gone Animal Control" auto and figure set! It took a bit of effort to make sure the dogcatcher was glued to the little plastic base I made, but I like how the end result came out!

Nice little Woodland Scenics scene you got there! They add a nice touch to the layout, I have a few on my own. They are quite expensive though

I apologize for the long absence, but I've been busy with some other things. But now I've made a noticeable upgrade with my current 11x8 L-shaped HO-scale model railroad layout! The nearly 12-year-old E-Z Command system I've been using was starting to wear out a bit, i.e. a button may take a few pushes to register. Since I had a bit of extra money saved up and saw it was on sale, I made a logical upgrade...
The Bachmann E-Z Command Plus! I still only get to control up to nine locomotive addresses (which is fine for a layout of this size where I generally run only up to four trains at once), but now I have much finer 128-step speed control, along with the ability to support more locomotive functions if need be. Of course I still use a TYCO power pack to provide AC power for the turnouts and certain operating accessories (I'm old fashioned; I'm not a fan of DCC turnouts).
Just another shot of the rail yard in action.
Operating the freight trains with the E-Z Command Plus system!

To reflect the original railroad running through my area prior to the late 60s (New York, New Haven and Hartford), I bought this used IHC Consolidation 2-8-0 with New Haven markings. It looks even more like TYCO's 2-8-0/0-8-0 than my ATSF model! I'm looking to get DCC installed in this, likely having this sent to TCS so they can install it for me.
One flaw with my TYCO operating boxcar is that the crates unloaded from it have a tendency to miss the bin and land on the street. Motorists and pedestrians in that area had better watch out!
I don't think I got this angle of a train passing through my Plasticville road crossing yet.
Yep, the ACME Corporation exists on my layout! In addition to the billboard, I have a couple of Lionel's fairly new ACME freight cars! No doubt they came out with those to tie into "Coyote vs. ACME" finally getting released this summer, along with their making similar cars in O-scale. I don't seem to recognize the tooling for the gondola, though; I don't recall seeing an older Model Power version of it or anything.

It looks similar to the Tyco one, as IHC used a slightly modified version of the Tyco molds. Which in turn is based on a USRA 0-8-0, that Tyco decided to add a front truck to for some reason, only to remove it later...

Also, the reason you don't recognize the gondola is because Lionel got in some sort of legal trouble about using the ex-Model Power molds. Because of this, Lionel has had to discontinue any models using Model Power molds and had to create their own from scratch. Both the Boxcar you have and the gondola are new, in addition to everything else Lionel currently offers in HO.

Very fascinating. But it's too bad that means we probably won't be seeing a revival of the Mantua Classics locomotives and cars or anything like that...
