Trying to find out if the Lionels where built here in the states of over in China? I'm looking at a Lionel HO Scale Train 5-5522 Powered Engine U-18-B Rio Grande. Anyone know where they where built?

They were produced in the USA, 1976-1977 with a GE motor.

Lionel diesel (FA, GP9 & U18B) locomotives produce from 1974 to mid 1976 have GE motors. In 1976 Lionel move production to Hong Kong and GE motors were no longer used.
