Short of Farah Fawcett, few things make my heart go pitter-patter as a NOS G in box. "Operating pantographs" goes as far as one can raise or lower them. While filming "Where's the Boeuf," on her maiden voyage, at full throttle, pantograph up, she slammed at full speed, down hill into a low tunnel portal I'd forgotten about, hard enough for the stock cars behind her to go piling up like a proto-wreck. Guess that's not covered in the "Limited 25 year warranty!" Lucky me, just a slight bend in the pantograph frame, no real damage. As the "Lighted Locomotive!" there is no directional lightening. But she lights up like a Christmas tree.
Do you like PRR? Too bad, heh, heh, she's slated for a flat black coat and White Worms this Sunday afternoon. I do so love my broken down, dirt bag, much maligned PC.

Poor cash strapped PC was running all manner of NYC, PRR, and NYNH&H in multiple lash ups of switchers, F units, and EMD's. That they painted anything surprises me.

Nice Blue Goose. I saw that model in Clovis, NM at a museum train layout, it pulled a long string of stream liners to model airfield where a Ford Trimotor stood waiting. Clovis was the stop over on the SF where passengers wanting to make LA in record time.
Justin, the offer stands to you, or any other TFer to bring your favorite train to the El Paso Model Train Club layout. We will put that blue girl through her paces and make a fine, non-zany, I promise, video. https://airandspace.si.edu/exhibitions/america-by-air/online/innovation/innovation03.cfm

Some classics from the dawn of HO dominating the thread. Fascinating pieces one and all. I'd love to see videos of how these antiques move.

My LOTW offering is a Gilbert AF 31005 Steam Loco. The gears were gunked up, but once I cleaned that off, the loco ran well for a 50+ year old train!

And here she is after a visit to the Chop Shop. Ain't she pretty? I saw one of these critters live on scene in or about 1975. She looked pretty used up, but she was hauling fast south on the Northeast Corridor pulling a string of box cars.
