Does anyone know the exact date, or month at least, when Tyco stopped producing HO trains??? I have done research and found that they presented their last train catalog in 1993, but a month was never mentioned.
Just wondering.

Most interesting question. Sure there is someone that knows exactly. Their entry into model trains is equally interesting.

| Mattel announced the acquisition on November 18, 1996. They were trying hard to get Hasbro for about a year in order to expand but settled for Tyco for $737,000,000.00 Hasbro was going to cost over $5B USD.

The last printed catalog to showcase the HO line was 1993 and rather meager it was
As others have stated Mattel bought TYCO in 1998 which also gave Mattel the Matchbox USA line
Breifly they put the slot cars under The Hot Wheels line
