Would appreciate advice on how to send videos by email. I'm an old school person and it take me a while to grasp digital methods. However, with time and patients I eventually get it. So let me know how it is done please. I do have a very good Sony digital camera that takes videos and a smaller Canon camera that does the same. Thanks, Richard in Vermont

Just add them to the email as an attachment, like you would a picture, document or any other file. Click on the "add attachment" icon, usually a picture of a paper clip on the tool bar and then search for and choose the file.
The only concern may be the size of the video file. Some Internet Service Providers limit the size of emails and attachments.

I rather enjoy doing videos, and I'd like to see whatever you're shooting here on the TF. You Tube offers a free venue, and once done you copy the file and post it. I once tried to explain it to a fellow TF'-er, breaking it down to bullet points, about 15 in all.
If you want to know how to set up and use a free You Tube account, and create videos, with background music and/or sound effects, PM me and we can trade phone numbers and set up a date. It might be easiest to walk you through it, step by step, over the phone, than giving you a long laundry list of click this, don't click that, ad nauseum.
To my great shock, I largely taught myself, through a LOT of annoying trial and error, and would be happy to pass on what I have gleaned. I'm not sure which is worse, trying to self-teach one's self how to create a video on You Tube or installing Kadee's. My first movie camera was a 1939 Brownie wind up. I am much more comfortable with vintage technology than all this digital stuff with which kids today are effortlessly familiar. Talk to me a jiggabites or ramifying your SCD card and my eyes involuntarily roll back up into my skull.

Is there a way to find out prior to posting a video attachment if it is too large?

There sort of is. If you look at the file properties of the video clip, they'll give you the size. As for the maximum permitted size of attachments, if you exceed that once, you should get a message telling what it is and that you exceeded it. For example, I have a Juno account and it allows a maximum of 10 Mb. I think the error message, when that's exceeded, mentions that the limit is 10 Mb.
By the way, it doesn't take much video to exceed that, so think in terms of short clips.

| Another way is to use file sharing services like Dropbox or Box.com or Google Drive. You can upload the video to one of these services and then share a link to the file via email.
