Well after being laid up since February I am finally getting back into the train room and doodling around. I completed this little project last week. A log load represented by real twigs held in place by butcher's twine dyed black to represent cables. I can't find my pack of come alongs or I would have added them to each cable.

Glad you're back at it, Alex. Impressive piece. I especially like that coil tucked into one end. Looks like that if I were to pick it up it would leave handfuls of grime and rust behind.
No camera yet, so this is from the Chopchives, one of my very favorite pieces.

I like any RR car with logs on it. That's a real nice car Alex. And the Sanka hopper is a favorite. Here is a skid flat I converted for hauling logs.

After 2 weeks in the hospital and drinking the only decaff coffee they served (Sanka instant) I now run at the sight of anything with Sanka written on it. Otherwise a sharp looking car.

This is one of the three roof made for these cars for AHM by Pocha, later Riva Rossi, then Mehano for IHC.
This is the monitor roof car, the oldest style of the three 1860's

This is the second style of 1870's. Here is an older Western And Atlantic baggage car. A car not made for a long time.

This is the roof seen on the last of these cars made. nk

Gotta add my 2 this week. Got lucky and found a couple of good'ens in evilbay.
First off is a Holly Sugar hopper, got it for less than $10.00.

The other is a good ole 7-11 boxcar. Been wanting one of these for a while.

"Revelling" in my post, this weeks COTW for me is this Revell Cox flat with trailer. Both made by Revell Cox , pretty unusual, came through my shop, so I picked it up. I'm not sure the container is period correct, but it fit on the truck trailer, so I took it , too.

Do those frames separate? Just take a few off the top layer and you'd have a couple to sit around your junkyard/scrapyard/dump, and still have a convincible load
sim-al2 Also since they cut track maintaince the trains had huge trouble making over the railroad by the end 純那 yeah They did a Rock Island volountarily

Yes, they do, I have several of these cars I've collected over the years. A custom AHM done by WISE, they're hard to find, and sell (usually) for over $25 apiece. The frames come on a plastic tree, and you break them off and put them on flat cars. One day I'll get my frame consist rolling.

That Varney gon is to die for. Beautiful piece.
Tried out, finally, my new pawn shop camera today. This thing is magnificent, at it only cost $40. The coach is vintage Rivarossi, a diner, NOS. I love the way it sticks out a bit like an ugly duckling in the earliest days of Amtrak when a lot of equipment didn't match so well. Light as a feather, I had to put a weight in it to make it track properly.
