A little while back I stumbled across a forum called Railroad-Line.com. It wasn't super active, but it had tons of very high quality scratchbuilding and kitbashing in O and On30 primarily. I finally dug up the forum earlier today, and I'm met with the following. A prompt to login, and under "Not a Member?" it says that registration has been turned off by the administrator. Every part of the forum (Save the FAQ which just reiterates that registration was closed and then had a bunch of stuff about emojis and forum syntax) is closed off behind a log-in wall. Google has no cache for it, and it's not on the Internet Archive. So save for the precious few who have registered, the forum might as well be behind a 20-foot thick blast door. Doing a google search for "Railroad-line forums closed" just gives me a link back to the homepage and forums, and a bunch of irrelevant Pinterest pages. Anyone know why it shut it's doors? Or any other way to access it?

You got me curious so I too went and played in Google.
I wonder if a phrase in here, though from 6 years ago, is key:

It and the Atlas forum went down at more or less the same time. RR-line also uses Snitz and, I believe, the same hosting provider as Atlas. I understand it is run as a side project by Atlas's maintainer. My guess is that attackers got something nasty onto both forums and restoration of the Atlas forum took priority. If I'm right, we may see RR-line back sometime over the weekend.

That phrase;

I understand it is run as a side project by Atlas's maintainer.

Perhaps that side project has run out of steam?
Although, there are 2012 posts on the Atlas forum where railroad-line is up and running.

There is this from 2014 where it was down then back, http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/20612

A couple people's blogs mention it such as this from Monday, December 29, 2014, and contrary to blog comments this year it goes to the same login page you encounter.

You do not need to have an account to view on the forum, but you do need one if you want to post or comment (it is free).

--> His blog has recent posts, so he's still an active modeler, he might be a person to contact and ask about railroad-line's situation.

Other than that, yeah, seems to just be pinterest posts about it.
