This old Pemco is a grand little piece. Has a cruddy Tyco like PT motor in a body that approximates Athearn's level of detail, yet for all that she works rather well. Here she is pulling a string of Tyco tractor flats (see Trading Post, ahem) up a 1.5% grade at the El Paso Model Train Club.
Should you wonder if those decals are crumbling on the hack, it is because the decals are crumbling. I got them cheap off Ebay, thought I had a great deal, until to my horror they started to dissolve when trying to apply them. Very, very old. I did the best I could to re-assemble the fragments. The paint scheme is a spare AHM caboose with some spare gray and yellow thrown down; a composite fantasy scheme after several hours of peering at proto photos of L&N hacks. I have no knowledge of the L&N at all- I just liked the colors and the historical nudge regarding the Gray and the Gold.
BTW, dang, Mike!
