This is my collection of Sears Rolling stock for ho scale. The trailer on flats are From Cox and box cars by Lionel. All have been modified with body mounted kadee #5's and proto 33 inch wheel sets installed on original trucks.

Always thought those Cox Sears Piggybakcs were cool. I too have the Lionel-HO 40' Box Car and also upgraded it's underframe for metal wheels and knuckles like you did.

| Thanks Tony and G-I-C for your comments. G-I-C-those trailers really existed back in the seventies and through mid eighties as the local sears in Gastonia NC - at there old location on west Franklin blvd-always had some parked at the catalog order pick up. I can remember them as my mom ordered stuff and we would go on saturdays to get especially around christmas

Only temptation if you don't give in,
AND if you setup a poll to see if anyone thinks GIC would buy another piece of rolling stock that holds a truck trailer; well lets just say you wouldn't have to offer the "NO" option! [^] [:D] [^] [:D] [^] [:D]

| I hear ya Romcat--and agree--don't think i would have to twist his arm--It took a while to get those 4 pieces of Sears rolling stock. I got one of the trailers for 10.00 as i was the only bidder-it was not listed under sears ho either-it was in another ho category and i stumbled across it one evening browsing. It was in an Athearn blue box and mint on top of that. I have seen some of the box cars in bad condition sell for over $20.00 with broken steps--all of mine are intact.

Those are so nice. It's finds like that which makes collecting so addictive. Next on Dr. *, husbands and the hidden addictions to collecting old trains. [^]

okay... I have three of them... all the same.
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
