Starting of this week's SOTW it looks like, I'm posting my first ever A-B-B-A set, in Penn Central livery. The powered B unit is on the right. And even better, the two A engines are different numbers, one is 9451, the other is 5451. So an actual prototypical set in a way.

You're really tearing it up with all these PC posts, AMC! A trio of Hyvee cars from an AHM promotional set under the Conrail flag (layout courtesy of El Paso Model Train Club).

My SOTW is an odd one.... It's an old Fleischmann train set that I got for $40 at a train show last weekend. The set is a 1341S diesel, and a bunch of matching Santa Fe coaches along with their boxes; all of them in excellent condition. The engine runs beautifully. All I had to do to get it running practically spotlessly was clean the wheels. I looked on the bottoms of the coaches and locomotives and noticed an interesting little number on each of them. I later found that they're date codes and found the entire set to have been made in 1960.

Thank you. Even I'm shocked I was able to get it for that cheap in the condition it's in.

My set of the week is the scarce 1958 Sunset Limited passenger set made by Gilbert. I never understood why they didn't offer a vista dome or observation car for this set...

Amazing sets. Great score, Steven. Burb, that set is killing me. Short, but no less sweep.
