This is a thread for the old locomotives, still running in their home road's scheme long after the road's demise. Union Pacific's patched fleet, Wheeling & Lake Erie's ex-Rio Grandes, the now gone Norfolk Southern ex-Con fleet, it all fits here. I'd like to nominate two particularly old and interesting examples.
SOO 2010 - Milwaukee Road - http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4329321 While it seems this old girls days are finally up (The most recent picture taken on 4/5 shows it in a Canadian Pacific deadline), she still served 30 years after the Milwaukee Road's demise in the black n' orange.
CSX 4617 - Chesapeake & Ohio - http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=245646 Finally getting the CSX blue scheme in 2008, this old loco held onto the C&O scheme through Chessie System and into CSX. With Chessie System starting in 1973, that means it held on 35 years with this scheme.
sim-al2 Also since they cut track maintaince the trains had huge trouble making over the railroad by the end 純那 yeah They did a Rock Island volountarily

| I guess since every minute it is in not service it is not making money why spend time painting it.

I agree but IF I owned a shortline all my locos would be done in the as delivered scheme I't'd become a very popular railfan line

Here's another one
CR 60313 - Reading/Conrail - http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2015999 Still riding the rails in 2015 as part of CSX's MofW fleet. This old boxcar still goes by the CR reporting mark (I assume CSX now owns the mark, and just hasn't redone it). Also showing through the terribly maintained paint is the now 39 year old "READING" letters, as well as the RDG reporting mark, next to it's "newer" Conrail brother.

I knew Conrail was divided between Norfolk Southern and CSX, I was implying that CSX must have gained ownership of the reporting mark, as they hadn't patched it out yet.

In regards to that old tool car, also note the old plain-bearing trucks that have been modified tp accept roller bearing axles.
