So, my Tyco E7? On closer inspection, the plastic cover plate for the motor turned out to be missing the brass guides that are supposed to line the brush sockets. I attempted to bodge in some replacements but was only partially successful (the motor runs, but it takes full throttle to get it moving at creep speed) and the process was not kind to the plate.
Does anyone have a spare cover plate they'd be willing to part with? I'd prefer the black version but I'll take what I can get.

It does but it only has one of the brass guides. Still, since I do have one actual one (albeit probably slightly larger) I might be able to make it work

Sorry for late reply. Does the older-style one have both of the brass guides, or is it also missing one?

Yes, I mean the one without the bulb. What I'm asking about is something I can't tell from the photos, which is whether it has both of the brass brush guides (the flanged brass tubes that go in the brush sockets) I can see for sure that it has one, but the other socket is completely covered by the copper tab

Actually, wait, I'm being stupid about that. The ones on that one would be the same size as the extra I tried to bodge in so it doesn't matter. PM me your e-mail address, I'll take care of paying you as soon as I bank the recycling money
