not mine,so hope it does not offend anyone, but listed on ebay, not my cup of tea, surprised no one has complained to ebay, but it is history, ken An extremely scarce and hitherto uncatalogued Bing Quarry / Slave Labour Train, made under the auspices of the Nazi Government by the newly nationalized company Gebruder Bing in Nuremberg, Germany around 1940. This train is designed to run on H0/00 Gauge track, and is in near perfect condition, and is complete with the remarkably and emotive illustrated box showing Nazi Officers and Troops overseeing work in a quarry where these small trains would have worked. Quite ironic really, as the Bing company were originally Jewish-owned, only for the Nazis to take over the firm and use their products for their own nefarious purposes - The pictures really do speak for themselves here. It is complete with the original key which works the little locomotive, and measures 24 cms long.

Well, Ken that is an interesting piece for sure. But two points here -
1) people should stop trying to whitewash history, it happened, and being offended may be a right, but NOT being offended is NOT. And that's what complainers are doing, saying things around them should NOT offend them or should be removed. Nope, sorry, grow up.
2), If you look at the picture further down, it shows men in uniform with shovels. They are Nazi soldiers, not slaves. The pictures with no shirts are those men just stripped down. I don't believe they are slaves or captured foreign soldiers ie POWs. My opinion, anyway.
At any rate, a neat train set, from a historic period of time. Thanks for posting that. Very interesting.
Jerry in VA, USA, NOT offended in any way. It's history.

Heh, well, I think I'll save all that money to buy more Tyco. And a few others. Like I said, nice historic piece, but not my cup of tea, or plate of saurkraut either.

That is a most fascinating piece. Yes, the laborers are a little too fit to be half starved victims of the Reich, and one of them is quite blond. Still, the dominant appearance of the officers and the soldiers with guns makes a pretty broad hint, or perhaps I'm just reading too much into it. Still, an astonishing piece of a terrible past, and that it was designed for children, to guide their perception of the world, is chilling.

An acquaintance, Major, USA (ret) picked up this while stationed in Germany. Hitler's personal train. Of interest is the extensive armoring. "Uneasy rests the head that wears the crown."
