Wanting more information. What year was this sold from with the V2 motor? Just noticed the valve gear from the 2-8-2.

| It is a kit-bash, Varney never cataloged a Super Berkshire. Varney only made Super Consolidations, Pacifics and Mikados. There is a Super Northern, but it was never cataloged and is rare.

I have a Varney Berkshire unbuilt. Most likely not complete. looks to have a Mantua-Tyco Mikado drive. No 4 wheel trailing truck. And no Varney tender. Will most likely use a Mantua tender. So it will become a kitbashed Mikado. * Oh well, cant have everything that matches. frank

Justin,
This is the Super Mikado, not Berkshire. To my knowledge, they did not offer the Super Berkshire from the factory, although one could easily be made. They appeared approximately 1952-53

Thanks for the information Sean! And can't wait to see what you'll do to your engine Frank! I figured it was a berk. Looked big enough.
