This is the contents of a box left at the front door
of the LHS this week.
For services rendered, the box came to me yesterday.
Tenshodo GP-7 CNW 1571
Tenshodo F7-b hand-painted GN
Most likely an Athearn metal box car in a road I have rarely seen
locally. Western Pacific 20807
A box of passenger and freight trucks, including a number of
Tenshodo passenger trucks.

The long boxes were a cool touch as well.
I knew immediately what they were from.
The numbers on the front took me back at least 35 years
to when I worked in office products.
Can any one guess what they are from?

By the way, the F7-B is a dummy, but feels like a powered unit.
All it has in it is the little lead 567C engine block.
I put some graphite on the axles, and it just rolls forever.
Well, a long time anyways.

They look like Player Piano scroll sheet boxes. I used to have a player piano. :D

There's a clue on the labels.
Look at the names.
Do they seem familiar at all?
It might depend on how old or young you are.
BTW
Player piano scrolls is an awesome guess, but no.
Not quite that old.

So, I have the rest of the stuff left at the door.
I spotted this in a box destined for a train show junk box.
Very popular at $5.00 each, by the way.
Older Athearn streamlined cars in CP, some with Central Valley trucks.
Sadly, all cars appear to be glued shut at every seam.
Early Hi-F F-unit hand painted, ditto the dummy B.
A number of old kit cars, some Athearns, others Varney, and to be
decided.
And some junk.
I was helping David pick up the last of an estate purchase on Saturday,
so he said to take it as well.

Those look like typewriter ribbon boxes, based on the names that are printed on them.
(and the "red/black" hint).

That's right, Oldtimer.
That stuff was my realm for the entire 13 years I was in the business.
First as a warehouseman, then as a buyer.
When computers became common in the early 80's,
dot matrix printers multiplied like bunnies.
Trying to keep up with the latest ribbon cartridges
was a nightmare.
Now, I don't know if they even make them anymore.
But you can still get good old typewriter ribbons.

Would these boxes have contained multiple ribbons? They seem a bit big to hold only one ribbon, but I could imagine a stack of ribbons on reels in such a box.

Yes, there would have been a dozen in each box.

Well this has been a weird segue.
I'll let you get back to trains now.
