Yeah, don't see those Esso signs that much. Pretty cool!

My post is a dirty, well-used Tyco loader. Missing the controller, but I have a few of those anyway (somewhere).

My AOTW is a MRC Tech 2 momentum controller I got at a Goodwill for only about $14 plus tax. $14 is way less than what these things go for at my local train show, so I consider this a steal.

Great finds.

Here's my offering: I've been chipping away at building up some
Tyco Strap Hanger straights out of balsa. Not perfect, but will do
I think. Easier than working with bath tub caulk. I may go back and
fill in the underside of the ties with some insta-gasket to fill the
gaps created by the ties. It was necessary to pull the street edges
away from the exterior rails and sand them down to allow for the
low slung Tyco chassis to clear the road surface.

I remember saving my money as a kid and buying one of those Tech II power packs with momentum. It was unbelievable to me how much better my trains ran with that over my lil' ol' Tyco powerpack! I think the Tyco powerpack initially starts at something like 5v. For being close to 40 years old the Tech II still looks modern.

I'm thinking the same about my Tyco transformers for my trains and slot cars. I want to stick with Tyco stuff but I know there's power available that is soo much better...

My shop has some very old HO DC transformers, and I finally got tired of the two I was using, as they're inconsistent, so I grabbed a Tyco Dual control unit that had come in , and set it up to test engines with. Works great, no buzzing, and I'm happy with the set-up now. Whew!
