In the process of cleaning and thinning out stuff. I have a nice collection of Tyco 90% train cars and engines. Would it be best to sell the stuff individually or try too sell it all together?
Thanks

| Individually is always best, though putting the more common ones together in lots of 4-6 helps move them along...

Shipping can be a pain so I would say move as much as you can in a group.

There's no easy way to parse it. Too large a group, and you get low bids because people already have "some" of the items, and don't want duplicates. Singles and you're doing a lot of work for single items. Best way, if you're not wanting "quick", is to find out if any are desireable and not common items, and sell those individually. Others can be placed in small groups from 2-4 without losing too much value. Anything larger than 5 or 6 and you start to experience lower bids. It of course all depends on what you have, and what people want. People will not bid on a lot of 5 or 6 cars if the Seller starts out wanting 5 bucks apiece, and they already have 3 or 4 of the cars, and only want one or two of yours. It's a guessing game. :) Good luck with it.

I've been down this road. Sold off this model train estate sale. Everybody on Ebay, myself included, wants a bargain. Haggled with scores of individuals, some quite haggly and endlessly persistent. After unloading a fair amount of stuff, and going through yards and yards of bubble wrap, and scores of boxes, then came the individuals telling me the items were damaged by the post office, which happened with astonishing frequency, no matter how much wrap I used.
If selling a bunch of Tyco stuff, I'd suggest you take one really nice piece- like a Sanka Car, or some other harder to find Tyco piece, and put it in with at least ten of the ones that will sell for a very few bucks. That way you can reduce the number of outgoing parcels and get a better price.
Moreover, after selling all this stuff, I got a whopping $450 bill from Ebay, which they gladly pulled right out of my checking account, for listing fees. It's all in the fine print.
Sell cheap, bundle it wherever possible, and send it insured each and everytime is what I learned.
Do you have any Tyco tractors?

| The only problem in selling bulk is your going to get 20 emails from people asking you will you separate, it's nerve racking. With that said, I still would sell in bulk. Also, if you sell here, prepare yourself to get nitpicked and low-balled. Unless you have something rare to ultra rare, don't waste your time here. Go the eBay route, you're not going to get nearly what you will be able to get here.

Five. I needs five. Whatcha got?
Man, I got creamed on the listing fees and relisting fees to the tune of hundreds of dollars. Ebay was so nice, they actually gave me a pie chart showing that 26% of the sales went towards their listing fees, even though the bold type said I had free listing for a thousand items or something. The fine print tells a very different story. If one can bundle it off, so much the better, but yes, you are right, a lot of people will want to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Maybe Bob might be better served if he can get a table at a model train show- even though I rarely see Tyco fly off the shelves there, either.

Chops, I'm pretty sure I can muster up five tractors. Give me a day or so to dig through my boxes.
What pisses me off about eBay is they also take 10% of the shipping costs!! eBay and myself have went round and round several times. I know they think they win, but I just stop using that account and make another one......
What was it that the fine print states when they say "You can list for free"?
