Picked up this 2-10-2 in Edison NJ last week. Remotored job was ok. The universal on the motor is split and the shaft is smaller. I'm wondering if the motor and gear box shafts are the same size. Both look like 3mm.

If you have a caliper or anything that might serve the purpose, it'd be simple to compare. If not, you might be able to screw a nut on a bolt until the shaft is between the bolt head and nut and see if that gap is a fit for the other shaft. If the nut wants to creep, a little something gooey on the bolt would cure that.
