I was talking to a customer of mine the other day. (I'm a pesticide tech these days) and he works for the Canadian National Railroad. They bought the Illinois Central a few years ago and it makes them one of the largest RR's in the world. They own trackage from Vancouver, British Columbia on the west coast to the tip of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland on the east coast. The IC ownership gives them track all the way south from Canada to New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico. THAT is a big honkin RR! Anyway I mention this here because they are desperately short of engineers and are looking to hire people to train for it. CN pays extremely well, and provides awesome benefits. Anyway I'm thinking about it. Going to contact them and see what they are looking for.
Anyone else interested!? Remember this is a Canada & American RR.

Gareth...oh don't get me thinking!!! Would be cool. I've also always wanted to drive big rigs too...guess watching "BJ and the Bear" as a kid made me think it would be a fun career. Keep waiting for my current job to roll over and die and then I plan to try out trucking, but maybe trains would be better?
At leat today you won't have arms as big as Hulk Hogan's thighs from shoveling coal like my father did. In Malfunction Junction: When all else fails get a bigger hammer.
