I purchased a set of three streamlined Lima coaches, and they arrived today.

And there's something odd about the trucks:

They have what seen to be Kadee #5 draft gear boxes mounted right over the draft gear boxes for horn-hook couplers. I can't tell if it's a very smoothly-done mod, or if they came from the factory like this.

It looks to me to be a well done modification. If it were factory I would have thought they would have just used knuckle couplers that fit the existing draft boxes. Also that loos to make the coupler height to high.

It actually brings it up to standard height, checked it against my Kadee gauge. Lima's horn-hook draft boxes are low-slung, instead of elevated as is the usual.

EDIT: Closer inspection confirms this is a modification.
