Hello from the road guys! Well, interesting week. Friday morning, my team mate wrecked the truck outside Pocatello Idaho on 86. Apparently he nodded off and ran over a sign. I was asleep in the bed. Made it to Salt Lake City. Finally got a hobby shop visit in! Got some N scale trains and Tyco traction tires. THE TRAIN SHOPPE was ok. Tad bit high. Ouch. Was this a screwup to yell at your teammate about, or a misfortune to comfort them over?

I was asleep in bed out back. Woke up to the sound of a collision! I remained calm!

That was the worst part about driving a truck. I drove half asleep more miles than I care to remember. I never did pop any funny pills, but I can certainly see why that is a problem for drivers.
Once outside of Joplin I was so tired that I hallucinated the Jolly Green Giant stepping off an overpass. That did it for me. I pulled over, fell sound asleep for four hours, to heck with the JIT load.
Ya'll might remember that when you're around an 18 wheeler: that driver may be running on his last fumes.
There was a spectacular head-on collision involving some SP units not far from El Paso some time ago. The conductor was known to bring his pillow with him.
I think it was the Canadian Pacific that started to allow crews to sleep and doze when on sidings. The accident rate dropped off geometrically and the other Class Ones followed suit.
You can only push a mule so far.
On a happier note, Justin, there is a guy on the Forum who is selling off his collection of slot cars (600+) including a wide array of some hard to find US 1's. MoparRocker74. I bought some of his Tyco stuff and it was great. He was very reasonable in his prices, willing to bundle, and shipped promptly. Anyone PM me and I will shoot you his email address.

I'm glad you're both still among the living. I hadn't noticed the broken windshield in your FB post. That'd be scary for the truck to take a hit so close to the driver's face.
