I'm looking for the 1959 long passenger cars. I need two Canadian Pacific coaches and one observation along with a B&O combine and observation. Pictured below is a 1959 car in comparison to the 1960+ version.
Thanks in advance!

Found an observation car... Still looking for two coaches :-)
Frank, those Southern Crescent cars are tough little buggers to find too. I'm still piecing my chrome set together...

Out of curiosity are you trying to collect all of Tyco's passenger sets? That's been my off and on goal for the past ten years or so. It sounds simple enough but some of the sets are ridiculously elusive. Good luck!

In all honesty, about 10 years ago, I had all of the brown box and red box passenger sets. The chrome Southern Crescent set was one of my favorites. The hardest sets for me to find were the ACL with engines that weren't faded and matching colors and the uncataloged D&RG. I lost most of my trains in a divorce and have been slowly rebuilding my collection. I primarily collect Gilbert HO but have a few select Tyco/Mantua pieces. I also have a nice Varney F3 collection, almost complete.

Ouch, that's rough. I lucked out years ago and found a full ACL set on ebay with a BIN of $20. Ironically the hardest set for me to find has been Canadian Pacific. I'm up here in Canada and all I ever run across are the CN cars. Was the Rio Grande set uncatologed?
Anyway, good luck with your hunt! Sorry I couldn't be more useful!

Nice grab on the ACL. :-) The CP isn't easy to find in the short cars but it's practically impossible to find nice/near mint examples of the long cars. I scored the combine on eBay for $18 buy it now but has to pay $92 for the observation but it's NOS in a mint box.
The Rio Grande set has two variations in the paint scheme. The one version is regular production, the other is uncataloged. I'll try to find a pic

The Rio Grande coach on top is the regular production car bearing number 203 on the car. The coach under it is the uncataloged variation, bearing number 3220. All the cars uncataloged cars had different numbers from the regular ones and are hard to find...

I "almost" bought a set off Ebay one time ( to resell to Micro, but I was short on money). I think it sold for only $45 or so, all 3 cars, redbox. That is the cheapest D&RG set I've seen ever. Most seem to sell for 70-80 or more. Same with ACL. I found two ACL cars local for $10 each, I think I just need the Observation car now. I saw the Gilbert/Tyco set at the Timonium show a few weekends ago, they were asking $100 for the set of 3 cars.

@ - bad71burd, I'm not sure why people say that those ACL F9A and the F9B sets are faded. I got a damn near mint set because the guy thought the engines were faded. They are not faded, they cam from TYCO like that, and his loss was my gain!!!

I've had a few where the one side is lavender the other side is almost a baby blue. Finding them in even shades that all match had proven to be a fear at the time.

I thought I was pretty knowledgeable when it came to TYCO Trains, but it was only 3 days ago I heard they has a chrome Crescent set just after I just got both the Santa Fe and B & O sets this weekend. Do you have pictures of one?

So, I take it your looking for additional Dangerous and Rapidly Growing Worse coaches? Good luck on that one. Scarcer than hen's teeth, I reckon. I got this F with a Mantua MU2 motor (runs strong). Need one?

Aaargh! I never made it into the dome car! However, the ride in coach was pretty fantastic. I didn't want to get off. Did you, by chance, meet Debrah Barnett? She is one of like twelve lady locomotive engineers in the USA, or so she told me.
