I had to have this pack of Life-Like, Mobil gas signs although I most likely won't display them on the layout...

I dare say, the lower signboard looks to read $28.90.
Which wouldn't be a bad thing from my perspective,
it would ignite the passenger rail industry once more.

People would be hanging off the sides of the Metroliner
like commuter trains in India.

I gather that in Brazil, it is a popular gimmick to surf on
the tops of electrified rail cars. Now and then, one of the
"surfers" grab the wrong wire.

Here's my AOTW:

The Tyco Piggyback Loader/Unloader straddle crane. I do have the ramp for this, I just left it off because I was already having to put shims under the base. Anyway, this is a lovely crane, works nicely.. And as you can see, all it would take is adding a separate lowering mechanism for the grasper to let it reach down lower for it to fully work for loading and unloading double-stack container cars.. With wheels for the frame to plug into, it would become a full-fledged container crane.

An interesting piece. I need to get a photo of the prototype that is in the BNSF yard in downtown El Paso. It is almost
a dead ringer for this item- except the plunger.
