I may possibly have found a solution to the missing drivers for my early 50's Hiawatha 4-4-2 Reading a feature in MR from the early 80's, they mentioned Bowser had 80" Box Pok wheels for scratchbuilding. The original model didn't have them, but the prototype did. Believe it or not, Bowser still has them! They were originally for their Pennsy T1, but look like they will do the job. I'd better order them before they finnaly sell out!! Evan

Very neat find. You don't see Rivarossi Hiawatha's often.

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

Yes. I checked them out before. Sadly, no axles. But, I need the trailing truck and sideframes. A good investment, I think. All the other parts seem sound. I even have the correct three-axle front tender truck, as the prototype had. I'll just have to wait for some available money, so I can proceed. I just bought a car, so loose change is scarce. Evan

Well, my original plan didn't pan out. However, I did get a pair of drivers from NickelPlate Nelson.
Lots of work yet to do. Maybe I can get it running without rods, just for a bit. Evan

Those aren't Box Pok like you'd wanted but at least you've got them.
If you still want Box Pok wheels down the road, Mantua/Tyco Pacific wheels would fit the bill. Those are commonly Box Pok and they're 80".
