Thanks to great posts by Toptrain, Kovacste, and Catfordken I pulled off the dust cover, banished the cats, and started up on the layout again. Most notably, the haitus did me some good, in that I decided to abandon this L shaped yard extension to the left of the layout; it would take up so much room. And I want to pull out my Tycomania layout again and put it in that space. Instead I am laying in a small double track stub and taking the extension around the layout to form another passing track. This will create even more in-motion operating possibilities when I get to installing DCC. Less is more, sometimes.

Pretty cool Jeff. Looks like a fun track plan to run trains on and that crossover makes things interesting as well.

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

Happy to see that you're back in it, Jeff. I've been laying my track down just to see where everything will go. Bought two more right hand turnouts, switches tonight.
