Trainfest In Milwaukee Wisconsin
Sunday, November 15, 2015

Saturday & Sunday, Nov. 14 & 15 at Wisconsin State Fair Park

Every November nearly 25,000 modelers, families, and train fans of all ages converge in Milwaukee for a weekend of fun at America’s Largest Operating Model Railroad Show.
What makes Trainfest so popular?

It’s the amount of amazingly-detailed railroads and their uniqueness and variety. With 230,000 sq. ft. (nearly five football fields) of exhibit space featuring more than 70 highly creative scenic railroads, it’s a sight to behold. There is a constant hum of enthusiasm that travels throughout the show. The air is electric. Smiling faces are everywhere. Veteran Trainfest exhibitors, in particular, look on newcomers with fond nostalgia as they remember how amazing the event was during their own first visit.
The imagination of a kid, or a kid-at-heart, is present in each of the layouts on exhibit. It’s amazing what modelers can do in transforming Styrofoam and plastic into beautiful countrysides. Many of our expert modelers were introduced and hooked on the experience of model trains as youngsters.
Families at Trainfest

The family presence is very important at Trainfest and our kid-friendly activities ensure that all families will enjoy and feel welcome at the event. We strive not only to support today’s model railroading hobby, but also to inspire the hobbyists of tomorrow. Be sure to check out the Kids’ Activity Zone to learn more about all the family train fun!
The Hobby

Whether you’re looking to expand your layout or just getting started in the hobby, Trainfest is the place to be. We host over 100 manufacturers and hobby dealers, to showcase the latest products. (Many offering great Show deals.) The manufacturers and dealers have traveled far and wide to attend Trainfest, and they are ready and willing to share product recommendations and tips. Unanimously their goal is to help everyone at Trainfest find just the right products for their railroading need — from beginner to railroading extraordinaire.
Come, join us for a great experience and discover the magic of model railroading first hand. You’re sure to leave with an enduring memory, and you might just start a new family tradition.
Clinics/ Demos

How do they do that?! Want to get started in model railroading? Hone your modeling skills? At Trainfest you can watch the experts or take part in a clinic. Most are for adults but some are for only kids too.

Trainfest offers a variety of clinics and demonstrations on-site during the show.

To get a glimpse of the type and quality of clinics and demos, check out an issue or two of our Trainfest EXPRESS newsletter. There are some great “How-to” features from our clinic/demo presenters. For the full clinics schedule visit our clinics page.
