I rarely buy british trains these days, but when one pops up at a low price,i am tempted and at the price i got this one, would have been a fool not to,peppercorn (29 January 1889 – 3 March 1951) was the last Chief Mechanical Engineer (CME) of the London and North Eastern Railway, most popular were his LNER Peppercorn Class A1 and the LNER Peppercorn Class A2. These were known as some of the best British steam locomotives ever in service. a h peppercorn was the only a2 class not named after a racehorse, the only preserved a2 was blue peter,no a1 class locos were saved for preservation, but tornado being a class a1 was built in 2008,and the firebox was lit for the first time by his widow aged 92

not true ben dc models these days are still very expensive for what they are, look at the difference between bb athearns and rtr athearns, its still a bargain for a well made loco, freight cars cost more today
