Just scored 7 streamliners (1 duplicate) and a non working Shark for $50. I was the only bid. I can't wait to put them behind my 50's Pacfic (with TYCO roadname of course).

Wow, good job, man.

The listing says the engine does work, actually. So, you're wrong that it doesn't, if the listing is correct, of course.

That's a killer deal! I don't know why, but for some reason the metal streamliners Tyco made in the 50's seem to be less popular than the plastic cars from the 60's. Maybe more people are interested in the Mantua remakes from the 80's? Still they're gorgeous cars. Great score!

The metal ones - either the originals or the 80's remakes - are my favorites. I do have a red box Tyco streamliner set with plastic bodies and metal chassis that I really like though, that kind of started me on the metal ones. I stay away from the all-plastic Tyco versions though.

Yeah, I'd love to get ahold of one of those metal coaches, someday. They look much better than the plastic ones although those aren't horrible.

I'll post pictures when I can. I fired them all up today (only have a test track) and all the lights work! The diesel and 6 cars are 6 ft long (each streamliner is about 11" coupler end to coupler end)- they look pretty impressive on the shelf. I can only imagine what they look like on a large layout. It is hard to believe that these suckers were made in 1956 or 57 and still work.

Yeah, I'd think some of the lights might be burned out by now
