Snagged this postable building/accessory out of the trash today, boss threw out this slightly used and abused Lionel gate crossing building, has some rust on it, some dents, but mostly whole. Will see if I can get it to operate. I've been scoring big time the past couple weeks, boss sorting out the junk, and tossing stuff that is worth nothing to him, but that I think can be used and salvaged. We'll see.

That's a neat little building! Why doesn't your boss just have a 'free' box to give others the oppurtunity to use stuff like this? They may not have any value but that doesn't make them worthless. I'm sure some kid passing through the store would love an extra building for his trains.

Exterior of El Paso Model Train Club. We are in the process of scraping of about six layers of old paint and repainting it. We'd like to get a train mural on this wall, but no one likes to work for free. The cross buck is home made, we are going install flashers on it using trailer brake lights set to a flasher unit.

Years ago, a friend of mine projected a slide of the Great Seal of the United States on the side of a building for the bicentennial year, and someone traced the projected image on the wall and painted it. I'm thinking that such a technique might allow the club members, themselves, to make a mural without being expert mural artists.

Some vintage stuff this week. I remember (barely) one of those on my brothers' and mine Lionel layout before I went HO.
This week I'm featuring a Walter's Rocky point lighthouse. A really nice kit but a little pricey. It replaced a plaster casting I painted myself and was never really happy with. This one looks much better, and it even has working lights.

Gary, that's a really nice lighthouse scene with the keeper's cottage, the rocky shore, and the steps leading down to the docks. But it looks lonesome standing there all by itself with no scenery around it; you need to get started senicing the rest of your layout!

In another 20 years some of those trees will have to come out. Can't have them growing up to block the beacon.

Looks more like a prison than a school, but a cool building either way. I don't think I've ever seen one before. scsshaggy - Funny I've never had a problem with my trees growing on my layout. Maybe I need to water them?

Do they educate le boeuf, or is that not really a cattle shed across from the school?
You know they have to be able to get in and out of the fence easily, otherwise, you'd have to be way better than I at basketball or lose the ball.
