The overwhelming response to this post shows just how much the average American cares about soccer....or football, as some would say.

| whilst a lot of people of the older generation have little or no interest in football/soccer,the young generation are taking lots of interest in it,but my point is regardless of if the majority have little interest in the game,should none the less be proud of being the world champions,i would if we won american football for which i have no interest whatsoever,ken

A very good point, Ken! And as an American, I am proud of the U.S. Women's team coming out on top.
