I am looking for a few Tyco/Mantua cars dating from the metal base, metal truck era, circa late 1950s.

One is the Pennsylvania derrick car.

The other is the lighted Pennsylvania caboose. This is the mid-century modern caboose with the rear cupola.

I don't think the derrick was in production very long.

As for the caboose, these existed into the 70s brown box era, although these may have been remainder stock.

In my experience, it can be hard to find certain cars on eBay, because sellers do not have the language or train knowledge to describe them accurately.

Thanks in advance!

I have found this to be true. If I'm looking for something very specific, after viewing those results (or lack of) I'll enter very general search parameters. Have found the best items that way, mostly because the seller is unfamiliar with trains and had no clue what to list. Lots of times they will simply go by what is printed on the box the item is in - even if it bears zero similarity to the actual item.

That Durango caboose is giving me Deja Vu, for real. I either have one of those, or saw one at a flea market, or antique store, or something. I know I've seen it somewhere....

That's not a set that I personally care for (to each their own) so I wouldn't have got excited to see it. But I know I saw it somewhere....

Shocky ole boy, today is your lucky day, I have extra's of each one. I was going to put a large amount of TYCO's on ebay this week. PM me an offer and we can go from there.

I don't reply to lowball offers.
