Very interesting piece, actually. My AOTW is a Lledo Days Gone Model T van that I got for $1 as is.

Mega cool. Didn't know Varney ever made accessories. I really like your retaining wall in both entries. How did you do that?

My AOTW is an auction of Life-Like light poles. Bought this lot for the two packs of "gas lights"... But some of the others will come in handy around the layout...

Chops,
The retaining walls are Chooch 8312 that I have leaning against my incline to create a photo background since I am not very far on my layout. Because they come in fixed sections that can't bend, I don't think I will use this as the permanent solution when I complete the scenery. I don't care for the defined lines between each section and the fact that they can't match the curve of the track. Chooch has flexible stone walls that I will be experimenting with over the next few weeks that may look the way that I want...more to come later.

Yes, it's going to be tough to do something with demarcations. Maybe a column of similar pattern, some kind of overlay. The right most slabs seem to join up pretty good. Overall effect of the two tracks above and one below visually engaging. I will look forward to see what you do with this corner.

It looks like there's enough room between the upper and lower tracks for a normal embankment, but if you prefer the walls, I think some sort of buttress could mask the joints in the wall.

Mark, I think you could use those to make a believable wall. There could be a vertical column of "cement" between them, or maybe even a vertical column of rocks? Just bending something might not be as believable if the rocks appear to be bent rather than laid in a curve? ? ? Those look like pretty decent rock sections. quote:Chops,

I didn't know Varney made so much stuff. My first HO train set was their little B&O Dockside set. I know I got it because it was the cheapest set my parents could find that Christmas. That's OK, I got trains and train stuff for the next five years or so. Had to love my parents, they always supported my interests as best they could, God bless them.
My AOTW is a poster that hangs in my home of NYCs crack trains waiting to leave LaSalle Street station. I used to work in the building that replaced the station and had the view looking the opposite way from this shot. Ceres is still up on top of the Board of Trade looking the other way up the LaSalle Street Canyon. This is just an awesome shot.
