This, by far, is one of the friendliest Model Railroading forums online. I'm on several others, but since they cater mainly to the prototypical hobbyists who have the "dream basement empires" you see in the pages of Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman ... you tend to run into more than your share of prima donna "rivet counters" on them.
On this forum - you have hobbyists who can actually enjoy just "running" their trains. Blowing the whistles. Tooting the horns. And having FUN ... without over-complicating things with strict timetables, fast clocks and train order authority operations.
So my Tycos aren't prototypical, sometimes the wrong color, or contain locomotives painted for roadnames that never owned that locomotive type. Big deal. I'm into this hobby for fun, for relaxation, and to recapture some little piece of my youth ... not to become a railroad professional. On the other forums out there - I think the fine line between "FUN" and "WORK" got blurred. When a hobby becomes more WORK and aggrevation than FUN, it's no longer a hobby anymore ...
Hey guys - thanks for keeping Model Railroading fun! The way it was always supposed to be! [:D]
I like caffeine and a chainsaw ...

a sorta "Fundalmentalist" sorta place to hang out, I believe.
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

No truer words were spoken....er, typed. HOSMRR. I like this forum because you don't have the snobby attitude that other sites tend to have.
Enjoy the pics and video, too.

Your sentiments are my sentiments exactly...believe our TYCO Forum is a great place to talk about everything from "junk" toy trains to the prototypical cream of the crop being released today.
[:)]
Big thanks to Todd aka New York Central for providing such an awesome and well running forum for us to enjoy!!!

Welcome to the forums and thanks for the compliments.
I started these forums just for the type of crowd that has gathered here. Other boards just weren't as friendly and some people actually got down right nasty if you brought up some of the trains we've come to love.
Glad you like it.
