Starting out heavy here, I found this diesel shell at the Annapaolis, MD Armory show on Saturday. Paid $5 for it. Missing the drive assembly. But the shell and weights are so heavy, I will have to weigh it to find out how much it really is, it is a WHOPPER! I'm thinking 2-3 pounds here. Needs lots of work, but just because of it's age and heft, I wanted it. If anyone knows anything about it's origins or who made it, let me know! It's a beast.

What in the universe is that monstrosity? It is quite odd, though, I can see why you picked it up.

Yeah, it IS an early Alco, an HH660 to be exact. A REAL early diesel, made in 1939 and lasted into the 1950's. Those 3 round tanks under the center give it away as a non-FM unit. Thanks for suggesting that, John. Once I searched on early Alco, I got a couple Google hits. Very few photos of them, or models. Purty cool! Now to find out who made mine model....
