Starting out this week's BOTW, I have this rather decrepit KFC building, I'm thinking I might actually use TWO in a Diorama eventually, this will be the ghetto KFC, gutted and abandoned, as KFC opens a spanking new one across the street in a better location. :) Or, just have it be boarded up. I've got a nice one, but for $5, I couldn't let this one stay at the train show.

My BOTW is the Tyco Furniture store. Painted to appear age faded with interior detail. Will add exterior detail when it's turn comes...

Well thank You, Eric! All the furniture comes with the kit, but without some paint... the interior of this building is very drab. I believe doing the interior walls white, was the key to showing up the furniture....

I've got that furniture building as well. My Grandfather on my father's side had a small furniture business in Richmond, VA with that same style building, and I bought one to turn into that store, the Starr Furniture Company. Hope to get to it someday. Nicely done, yours is!

Thank You, AMC -Jerry! It's a nice little building kit. Is your grand father's building still there?

I don't care how simplistic they are, they look pretty cool and I can totally relate to that building since there's a furniture place or two in my area.

Yes, it's no longer a furniture store, but it's along the alternate main crossroad downtown that runs through Richmond, VA and most if not all the original buildings are still there. There's been no tear-down and rebuilding of new buildings in this historic part of Richmond, so it's still in place. I took a picture of it at one time, not sure where that picture is now,but I have it somewhere.

The best part of model railroading is finding something (building, place, train, etc) that brings back fond memories. I;m glad to hear it when someone does this. Congratulations on the find.
