My contribution to this week's BOTW is a model of the Empire State Building in New York.

Some paper back drop buildings, slightly modified, at the El Paso Model Train
Club. "Byron" is in reference to a late member, and significant contributor,
"Doc" Byron.

Chops the lead PC unit is incredible. Spray that thing with some kind of dull clear fixative and seal in the PC grunge. Magnificent. And as a matter of fact the whole train is dead on target

Thanks JNXT, this is some other shell, painted with a brush, on a
Model Power chassis, and weathered with diluted "rust." I do recall
giving it a coat of dull cote to seal the decals, etc. Purely an amateur
job by an amateur. This is why the TF is such an awesome site, regular
guys like me get to show 'n tell and talk to a bunch of other amazing
guys. I would never, ever, ever get published in a trade mag.
The viaduct piers, by the way, were made by another modeler at the
club, Gordon Pugh, who used thousands of pieces of egg shell, hand tinted, one bit.
at a time. Took him like a year.

Toptrain,  That's really nice. Besides how dusty it looks, everything else looks fantastic.

** Thanks Steve. I really don't remember seeing that kit at a hobby shop. I remember those built-ups being aviable through magazine adds where a picture was in a catalog on train magazine. I was told by some modelers that they were made for display at hobby shops.
I have a 1957 AHC catalog and that house is in it. It is listed as Faller #257. iTS
PRICE IS $5.95. it IS CALLED " House with Garage ". I lot of money at that time for a building kit . Maybe they were all preassembled.
