Great find Micro-B. Was wondering though, what is it about a particular dumpster that says "I might have model trains"?

What's amazing is that the stirrup steps are not broken off. The trucks and couplers are missing, they've been thrown away, and yet the steps are there. Not life-changing, but still surprising.

I read this and the first thing that came into my mind was the boxes of "failed" projects I have left in my garage and Ben acting like a kid in a candy store
just me Ray... and just because I have Tyco doesn't mean I am not a model railroader

Nice rescue Bus! What ya gonna do with it?
Here's my JOTW from tkruger

Going to fix up the body and use the caboose. Never had a track cleaner before.
The SF GP-20 has a badly damaged body, but the MU-2 motor cleaned up nice and runs great ... This is a keeper for a spare MU-2 and I need the railings on another engine.

UP GP-20 with MU-2 ... blew out the dust, polished the wheels, lubed the motor & gears and pulled 14 coal hoppers & caboose around with ease. Great runner! Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.
The 430 motor & gears were seized with dried grease. After cleaning, polishing the wheels & a lube job, it runs real nice. Going to put railings back on, side frames and couplers ... this one is a keeper ... been wanting one forever.
Thanks again tkruger!

| Ben needs to find himself a pool ladder that helps him go in and out of the dumpsters. I'd also be worried that the lids would fall closed on me while in one!

That looks pretty cool, actually. I like the natural weathering, makes it look like a scrapyard piece or something.

Found this in my parts box. Don't know what it goes to, maybe a coal car. It does want to run though.

| That is what I was thinking Jerry. I think I have a tender body with no undercarriage. I do not have anything to go with this motor even if it fits the tender body, it is just in the box.

That is what my tender body says. Thanks, but don't know what to do with it as what you see is what I have.

Honestly, it depends on what you wanted to do with them. Me, I would probably try cleaning them but honestly, I usually take things as they are and only do stuff to them when I want/need to do so. I like them cleaner overall.
