Funny, Crazy, Or Expensive Auctions is getting a bit cumbersome. I would like to try this like Junk of the Week. See if it flies.

$6.45 for a partial shell? Thinking it's a little on the pricey side Not that there aren't uses I can come up with for it

Who's the idiot who cut it up in the first place, and why? I know that's a little bit rude to call someone an idiot but seriously, who the heck would do this?

Well, you must take into account first, that the front of the shell may have been damaged, so he cut it off. It would look bad and not sell as a damaged shell, now it's merely "modified". Plus I've got a few F7 shells with the front cab or rear half damaged, I've been thinking of cutting those down to use as something else. Like a shorty. Anyway, I guess he figured it'd worth a try. I like the WOTW concept, btw. This could be VERY entertaining....

Why would you cut the cab off of a diesel shell??
To create this locomotive back in ~2004, I combined an Athearn RDC1, F7a and a Lionel PA1. Used the body of the RDC, the cab roof of the F7 and the nose of the PA..

Sorry it is such a poor picture. The locomotive was meant to represent this actual New Haven locomotive:

It was made to represent the New Haven NH NYNH&H Roger Williams BUDD diesel. I first started using only a photo as a reference since I did not at the time have any other info. Later, after it was built, but not painted, I found a scale profile drawing. Once I figured out that using the RDC instead of a standard Athearn coach passenger car as a basis, it was about ~8 feet too short from it's actual scale length, I became disgusted with the project. I quickly (rather poorly) painted and sold it. Started another on, but kids came along and it has been tucked away in a box ever since.

Mustang, that's a fascinating project! Since I like unusual, that definitely qualifies! My own "cab cutting" project may be modeled after a recent ebay sale, which Justin posted recently, someone had taken two BL-2 cabs, and made them into a Centercab on a hustler chassis. I liked that so much, I may cut up two of my spare MPAC shells to do one myself! I love little Centercabs, and a BL-2 version, well, I think it's a zombie ( no-brainer ). Gotta have one!
How about this? This was actually done, they used half a GG-1 at the shop to push the others around, when it got damaged on one end in a wreck beyond repair. Pretty cool, wonder if anyone has modeled this one yet?

I found the part to do a little work on the incomplete shell on eBay.

This cab will need a little work before it is suitable

Me too. Very odd locomotive, though. But yeah, here's an oddity I found floating on the internet.
That looks like something out of a historical fiction thingie and I like it.
