Word is that the Milwaukee Road Bicentennial will be a Phase I example, which is prototypically accurate for this model, and not the apparent Phase II body with 88" nose as shown in the Athearn release.
Athearn with only four examples has shown a variety of styles in this new SD-40-2 release...the BN has a the silencer exhaust; dynamic brake bump; and 88" nose making it what appears to be a Phase III; the ATSF is a "snoot-nose" example; the Southern features the "high-nose" tooled up for the recent GP40X run; and the Milwaukee may be a Phase I.
Should be excellent stuff and priced at $100 each...not bad...
