I know that life like made deluxe train set "layouts" back in the 80's and 90's. I would like to see more pictures of them and find out more information.
Here are some I know:
City Express
Triple train junction
Triple train empire
countryside hauler
scenic lights express
americana junction
america railway
lakeside hauler
tall mountain pike
My tain set started out with 2 of these, the Countryside Hauler and City Express.

I know a few. Here's an early one Life-Like had in the mid-1980s (top one)...

Saw one of these on sale for $50 at a model train show last year, but I didn't buy it because I already have most of the same components.
Another good one is the one here on the bottom, from 1990...

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Life-Like also had this:

Oh yeah, it's also worth mentioning the original "Triple Train Empire" set actually used Proto 1000 locomotives and rolling stock! Each of the three trains had one of their excellent F3A diesel locomotives (as this was all they had at first)...
These sets were a pretty easy way for one who would want to start with a full model railroad with landscaping right away. (Though with the Power-Loc sets, you could also initially set up an oval of the track on the floor or bare plywood to try out the train a bit before putting together the landscaping.)

It's a very highly condensed version of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. ^_^
Even with the hilarious tunnelbridgetunnel, what a neat layout.
I am also amused that the written text for "Big Steam" set describes an 0-4-0, but the photo shows the weird Prussian-American 2-6-0 I talked about in bnsf's 'Life Like steam' thread.

But I saw where a 2 lane highway went thru a tunnel & at the edge of tunnel was a railroad crossing where the tracks entered 2 tunnels on oppsite sides
Then highway went thru tunnel
Course this was on someone's HO layout 
Still was cool though

 I've found myself going there quite often when I want to identify a certain locomotive, rolling stock, or whatever. It does need to be updated a bit though, as you've just demonstrated.
