A gift of Tin Plate Henry, it arced and sparked so badly I though it would set the layout on fire. Moose Yarborough graciously overhauled her, and now she runs like a Swiss watch and pulls like a mule. Date of manufacture? Pretty common? Part of a set? Used as a template for other model rail manufacturers?

| It appears that you have a first generation Omaha with the large motor. Made around 1957, fairly common and were sold in sets and individually.

As far as I know, they're not that rare and most of them I've seen appear to have the same issue your's had.

| I have one of those. It has a clacker in it for 'realistic sound'. Kids love it. Mine was cleaned and lubed before I could get it to move so I never had the sparking issue.

Because you're in Nebraska, not Pennsylvania or Virginia. Gotta be a hard time finding civilization out there, much less an old train! You had to go to Denver to get the Streamliner!

P.S. - Try Ebay, much easier to find them there.
