Added my Control Panel area this week to my new layout. Also added the 1x4 down the west side of the board to provide some breathing-room for the track. Also got a sheet 1/4" plywood for the roof and installed a pair of lights...

Looks like it's coming together nicely. That breathing room is important on the sides, it will save some of your trains in the future.

What type of lighting are you using?

Ze cat, she is preparing to stake her claim [:P]

Control panel looks good! I like your SantaFe fleet too.

Right now they are inexpensive Wal-Mart fluorescents, but it's been suggested to me to switch to a daylight or plant light tube and I am going to look into them. Was told to look at tubes that are Chroma-50.

Actually that is my best and most train-friendly cat, Peanut. She sits and watches trains with me, but rarely approaches the board herself.

The ATSF fleet is certainly out in force that pic isn't it? There are a pair of Athearn RTR GP40X models awaiting DCC decoders; a recently decoder equipped Spectrum SD-45; the EZ-DCC B'mann SD-40-2; and on the tracks is a Model Power MetalTrain F-7A that I decodered and a Spectrum boat.
