Anyone out there done custom decals with at home ink jet printers? I see at home decal sheets for sale on Amazon but wanted some feedback on them. If any member has done custom at home decals I'd appreciate any help or pointers. Thanks! ArtSkull.com: Graphic Design & Illustration

I've done quite a few decals with inkjet printers - it's really fairly simple. I have not used the product you posted so can't comment on it's quality or ease of use. I've got most all my supplies here: http://www.bare-metal.com/Experts-Choice-Decal-Film.html
If you start with good sharp graphics and have a decent printer, you should be in good shape. The biggest drawback is that you cannot print white with an inkjet printer. There are techniques to get around this, but depending on the graphic you want to reproduce it can be easy or a challenge.
If you have any specific questions would be happy to answer them with the experience I have, and I'm sure there are others here who could as well.http://tycodepot.com/

Thanks for the information everyone. I'm a graphic designer by trade, so creating sharp clean images and printing isn't the trouble. I'm more interested in any specific brand inkjet paper that would print with white background. My son is a huge Disney Pluto fan; so I'm attempting to create a decal of Pluto to place on the side of an engine or rolling stock. The big issue is that Pluto's eyes are white. Any workarounds or suggestions are much appreciated. ArtSkull.com: Graphic Design & Illustration

If you're using waterslide decal film (as I assume) you can underpaint with white and leave the white areas clear.
Some people have done white lettering this way too, the trick is to get a good match with the base color.
