During the Halloween season, I've often wondered how to incorporate my love of horror movies into an HO layout. If there are any other horror enthusiasts among the Tyco forum, I think this site, http://johnstewartgallery.weebly.com/horror-houses1.html, might offer some building inspiration. Just tossing this idea out for some Halloween fun.

I swear I've seen some of those houses on train layouts at train shows. Definitely an interesting thing that could be done on anyone's model railroading layout.
-Steve

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

I think it was the old Vincent Price movie House of Wax that features a famous piece of Art Deco architecture from so cal in the exterior scenes that changes dramatically and very out of place for the interior shots that are very gothic.

The house used in Beetlejuice was super cool as well. Would make a great model especially after it was remodeled during the movie....pretty creepy. Best house in a movie ever....Zathura!

Almost forgot about this one

http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/mdp/mdp486.htm

Get a black van, paint or decal the name TAPS on the sides and have two figures, Jason and Grant are there to check the place out.

Great to see so many positive responses to the horror Halloween theme layout idea. The House on Haunted Hill is indeed the Vincent Price movie with the great art deco modern house in it. I love the idea of the house from Beetlejuice. The Psycho house, the Addams Family house, the Munsters house are all available in HO scale. I've also seen the house from the Amityville Horror in HO scale as well. A few other from scratch ideas I've had are the Myers house from Halloween, Uneeda Medical Supply from Return of the Living Dead, Nancy's house from Nightmare on Elm St., the Diner and Movie Theater from The Blob, and the Pet Sematary. Too many projects, too little time…
